We raise livestock to grow our own protein, but we also enjoy sharing our lives with beautiful, healthy animals. Chores are never really chore when they involve conversations with ducks or snuggles with young rabbits. Slaughter day is never our favorite, but we feel really good knowing we are accountable for the meat and eggs we eat and we KNOW are animals lived a great life and were treated with respect.
We practice rotational grazing to keep our animals on fresh grass and to slowly improve the soil. We also share our farm with predators. Our poultry are kept within electric poultry netting and our rabbits are housed in a secure barn. Our pasture is riddled with voles and we count on the coyotes, bobcats and kestrels to hunt them. We seek to live in harmony with all the wild animals, from bees to birds to bobcats.

We raise all our birds on rotationally grazed pasture. We have been breeding Muscovy ducks since 2014 and made the switch from laying chickens to ducks in 2017. Muscovies are wonderful mothers. Our ducklings live raised by their mothers and siblings and are a joy to watch following their mothers like tiny shadows! Our laying ducks include several heritage breeds and many Indian Runner crosses. We also raise one batch of Freedom Ranger chickens each summer to fill our freezer and sell to select customers.

Miranda has been breeding New Zealand rabbits since 2012 and began focusing on show quality animals in 2015. We currently specialize in black, blue and broken and only sell our very best stock as breeders. We are one of the few local farms who sells rabbit meat to the public, so find us at market or on-farm and try this lean protein out for yourself!
