Low-tech mowing

On The Farm · June 6, 2018

Some of you already know that Miranda is a scythe enthusiast… but did you know she also employs tiny little munching mowers?

Inside this rolling ‘tractor’ live the “Three Little Pigs” (a trio of rescue cavy, aka guinea pig sows). They are pretty efficient little workers! No blade of grass left standing past their munchy mouths. I move their pen every day or three, provide fresh water daily and occasional vitamin C rich treats and they do the rest! The tall stuff left to the sides is no match for the scythe.

Mowing and mulching for healthy soil and clean air! 🙂
